2.   Anger Management Training

 

Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored, than to anything on which it is poured – Mark Twain

 

 

Everyone experiences anger from time to time.  It is only when you are unable to control that anger, that it becomes a problem.   The aim of this course is to enable participants to understand anger, recognize the triggers of anger, and prevent anger outbursts.

 

DAY 1:  UNDERSTANDING ANGER

 

*   What is anger – the cycle of anger

*   What happens when you get angry – heart, body, and mind

*   Thought process and anger

*   Myths about anger

*   Dangers of uncontrolled anger

*   Recognise triggers

*   Society and anger

*   Why is anger on the rise

 

DAY 2:  PREVENTION AND / OR EFFECTIVE CONTROL OF ANGER

 

*   Connection between anger and depression

*   Thoughts can be deceiving – get a different perspective

*   Effective ways to calm yourself

*   Anger prevention model

*   Learn how to handle criticism

*   How to handle other’s anger

*   Turn negative anger into a positive experience
